1) Economics and Complexity
​
This research line focuses on making use of computational tools to the analysis of economics problems under the perspective of the complex systems theory. More specifically, it seeks to develop a methodology for financial stability analysis balance sheet based, potentially useful for banking regulation aims.

2) Financial Exclusion
​
The aim is to analyze the recent evolution of the monetary and financial system in order to understand the causes and effects, as well as the ways of dealing with financial instability, a phenomenon that is considered as intrinsic to the capitalist system. Scope: Financial regulation; European and 2008 financial crises; Regional impacts of financial crises.

2) Financial Exclusion
​
This line of research aims to identify the implications of financial exclusion for economic development, with an emphasis on local and regional economics. Financial exclusion is understood as the lack of, or precarious, access to financial services for the population. Scope: Financial exclusion and urban development; Local money and community banking; Microcredit.
